We’re delighted to have made the shortlist for this year’s ‘Hive’ Blackburn & Darwen Business Awards. We’ve been shortlisted for three categories:
The Environmental Business Award
The Investing in Future Skills Award
The Commitment to Blackburn & Darwen Award
This is a great achievement and represents how hard our teams work across all three areas.
Acme is ISO 14001 accredited and has been since 2011. We’re proud to make our positive impact on the environment through our environment improvement initiatives, such as our low-emission vehicle fleet, recycling facilities and promoting energy-efficient equipment.
Acme sets itself apart through quality of service, and we can only do that with high quality, experienced teams. That’s why we invest in engineer development, with regular company-funded training courses to both keep knowledge up-to-date and help our team develop new skills. We also run one of the best regarded apprenticeship schemes in the industry, with a comprehensive mixture of on-the-job experience and off-site training and accreditations.
Finally, we’re proud to be part of the Blackburn & Darwen community and have been based here since the company was founded in 1965. We employ heavily from the local area and have contributed to making the region renowned for its refrigeration and catering expertise. We also give back to the community through help in local programmes, such as the ‘Primary Engineer’ programme which we have contributed to for the last two years.
The awards ceremony is being held on 27th June 2019 at King George’s Hall, Blackburn. Keep your fingers crossed!
