Allerton Manor Golf Club is a beautiful, mature, tree-lined, pay-and-play golf course located in the leafy and affluent suburb of Allerton in Liverpool. The course and the golf clubhouse have recently undergone a full refurbishment and with Acme’s help, it has been transformed into a modern, fit-for-purpose venue.
Mike Hanlon, Property Director of Green Circle Estates, saw an opportunity to transform Allerton Manor from a troubled and substandard municipal Golf Club into a first-class pay-and-play course. Mike said, “We came to an agreement with Liverpool City Council to take over the operation of Allerton Manor Golf Club. The course is in a beautiful setting and fantastic location but was in a poor condition and in desperate need of investment and transformation.”
“We have completely refurbished the clubhouse, providing a new destination restaurant available to golfers and the local residents of Allerton. Acme designed and installed the kitchen and bar facilities for us.”

Staff throughout the business evidently cared about the project and really took the time to understand what we were looking to achieve - from our Account Manager Matt to John in Project Management and Tom in Design – even the Director team.
I know we’re not the biggest client for Acme, but you would never have known it; they have been fully invested at every stage and we’re delighted that we chose them. Genuine care and attention is a rare quality in companies these days and we look forward to working with Acme again on other new projects.”
The Project

“The team at Acme advised us on catering designs and layout, provided all of our catering equipment and managed the installation for us. They created an innovative design for our kitchens that utilised the latest slim line cooking and refrigeration equipment, which enabled us to maximise our front of house space. They also provided sleek and modern equipment for our bar area which has fitted in perfectly with the décor.”
John Priestly, Project Manager at Acme said “The building at Allerton Manor Golf Club is grade-II listed and the kitchen area was quite a complex layout. We had to work around structural elements to create a free flowing, compact environment and used equipment like a dual function cold room and compact storage to save on space”

The Old Stables restaurant is now the perfect setting for both our core golfer customer base and our local residents who want to eat in a first-class restaurant without travelling into the city centre”.
