This month, Chef and former Gordon Ramsay Group CEO Stuart Gillies is due to open ‘Bank House’, an exciting new standalone restaurant in Chislehurst, London.
It is the first opening for Stuart since he left the Gordon Ramsay Group, which he led firstly as managing director and then as CEO, for over 10 years.
We were delighted to work with Stuart on the design and build of their kitchen and two bars across the multi-floor venue. As well as installing full kitchen facilities, we manufactured bar structures and provided back-bar refrigeration, equipment and cold room facilities.
The centre-piece of their kitchen is a charcoal-fired Robata grill which we sourced and installed. Robata is a long-standing Japanese grilling tradition which uses specialist charcoal to create unique and authentic tastes. As a new cooking technique to the area, it’s set to bring fresh flavours to Chislehurst.
As insinuated by the name, the restaurant occupies the entirely renovated premises of an old bank. This provides a great setting for the front-of-house but also poses back-of-house challenges; with confined spaces, we had to be creative to provide a practical working environment. We have worked on numerous bank conversions in the past and were well prepared to help Stuart and his team make the most of their building.
It has been a pleasure working with Stuart on this exciting project and we are looking forward to supporting them in their launch this month and going forward.
